Description:
3M Saturated Glass Cloth Electrical Tape 90 is a white glass cloth tape with a rubber thermosetting adhesive. The glass cloth has excellent high temperature resistance, tensile strength and exhibits resistance to raveling and fraying which facilitates automated application and improves aesthetics.
Applications
1. For use as a high-temperature insulating tape in coils and transformers.
2. Connections in motors and electrical gear.
3. Banding anchoring and insulating systems.
Specifications
3M Saturated Glass Cloth Electrical Tape 90 is a saturated glass cloth electrical tape with a rubber thermosetting adhesive.
The tape shall be white and 7.5 mils (0.19mm) thick. This tape shall be coated on one side with pressure-sensitive adhesive, which shall not require heat, moisture or other preparation prior to or subsequent to application. The adhesive coating shall be smooth and uniform and be free of lumps and bare spots. There shall be no separator between adjacent layers of the roll.
3M Tape 90 shall perform at a temperature of 310°F (155°C) without loss of physical or electrical properties. To achieve maximum solvent resistance and holding performance, we suggest thermosetting the tape at one of the following cycles:
1 hour @ 150°C (300°F).
2 hours @ 135°C (275°F).
3 hours @ 120°C (250°F).

3M Glass Cloth Electrical Tape 90, is an industrial grade 7 mil electrical tape constructed with a white glass cloth backing mated to a thermosetting rubber adhesive. This product is used for high temperature electrical banding, anchoring and insulating applications. Constructed for effectiveness in demanding industrial applications, this product exhibits excellent tensile strength, fraying and raveling resistance for automated application and a conformable backing for application onto uneven or irregular surfaces.
